Bang!  Bang! Bang!  The king of kings arrives …….!  Yes, you know it right…..Alphonso mango season starts. Initial batches of Alphonso mango harvest start coming in.

Just the beginning,  carries high acidity in the fruit. Prices are high too.  Ripening takes longer than normal  5-7 days. Processing will start when the first batches have ripened. When the season matures, in about a week-10 days time, quality , prices stabilise. Still  no rains in the mango orchards! We start to get concerned for Totapuri mangoes! But we are praying! Hopes are alive. Let’s see, which way it turns out to be.
Expectations of a big crop of Totapuri (bigger than last year) seem to have gradually muted. In today’s position production can be forecasted to be just about 25% of the normal yield which shortens the harvest season.Still about 3-4  weeks to go before harvest, in which rain is an essential and determining factor for the final
outcome of the crop.
Our prayers are on! God bless! :)
